WELCOME!
Welcome to the website for the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire's Fall 2012 Interdisciplinary Course, "Food, Glorious Food!" The first-year students enrolled in the course are getting an introductory "taste" of Food Studies, with a primary focus on the connections between food, chemistry and culture.
On this website, you'll find course postings of various types -- assignments and experiments in Kitchen Chemistry, including a unit on molecular gastronomy; reviews and analyses of texts and films which highlight food in cultural contexts; and both favorite and original recipes provided and developed by the UWEC students in our course.
We invite you to browse our site and explore with us as we begin mindfully reframing the way we approach this rich and gloriously complex phenomenon known simply as, "food."
